We were a party of seven. The food was absolutely fantastic. Hot and fresh and perfectly cooked to order. The service was a little slow, but it was a busy Saturday evening so perfectly understandable. Would definitely recommend. .

Bistro on the Quay

A good selection on both the a la carte and set dinner menus.  The food was excellent and we didn&#39;t have to wait long between courses.  This was the first time we&#39;d been to the Mariner and decided we wanted to try somewhere different to our usual restaurants.  We will definitely be returning again soon.

Had dinner here several times last year and it was great then. This time was a bit disappointing. There were things (crates or mats?) on the floor, staff carried a dirty box past our table, and the cheese on the burger is not raclette (as before and still advertised). It seemed that burger had sat for a bit before the cheese was added. It&#39;s still a nice enough place but it was a bit disappointing this time, compared to earlier experiences there. We asked about the burger/cheese and they explained they switched to regular slice of cheddar due to cost. Fair enough but that&#39;s not on the menu. No one asked how our meal was, but other than that, the service is quick and friendly.

Upon arrival the staff member thought a large dog belonged to us as I was making a fuss of it and the staff member was not very welcoming as he thought we hadn&rsquo;t informed the restaurant which was fair enough. After he realised it wasn&rsquo;t our dog the staff member was welcoming, friendly and attentive and all four members of our party thoroughly enjoyed our food.
